Charming Bonaire restaurant

Enjoy the incredible views from Breeze ‘n Bites Bonaire waterfront terrace. The intimate seafront restaurant is located at Den Laman Condominiums, Kralendijk. Nestled right by the shoreline, this hidden gem offers breathtaking sea views that stretch across the sparkling turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Whether you’re visiting with family, friends, or enjoying a romantic evening, Breeze ‘n Bites provides the perfect backdrop with its family-friendly atmosphere and lively yet relaxed vibe.

Lunch and dinner with a view

As the sun begins to set, the restaurant transforms into a magical place where the sky is painted in hues of pink, orange, and purple, creating unforgettable moments for diners. The menu at Breeze ‘n Bites is a testament to the island’s rich culinary heritage, offering a variety of mouthwatering dishes that cater to every palate. From fresh seafood to Caribbean-inspired delicacies, each meal is prepared with passion and served with a smile.

Menu featuring seafood, flammkuchen and more

Our Caribbean inspired menu changes daily according to what is freshly available, so we can keep surprising our guests with new fresh flavors. But many dishes will be featured on the menu throughout the year, in different combinations.

Some of our favorites*:

Fresh seafood

Our seafood dishes attract people from all over Bonaire. Supporting our local fishermen, we can provide the freshest seafood available. Breeze ’n Bites’ owners Dick Bos and Frank Rustman share a passion for seafood. It won’t surprise you that this results in a variety of dishes guests go out of their way for to taste. Such as lobster specials, fresh tuna steak, sashimi, surf ‘n turf, Thai shrimp linguine, Peruvian ceviche, fresh scallops, home smoked wahoo and – of course – a catch of the day.

Flammkuchen menu

When people think of pizza, they usually think of pizza in Italian style. But Flammkuchen is a whole different type of pizza: this crispy and smoky German ‘pizza’ has its origins in Germany and France and is definitely a winner. Unlike pizza, Flammkuchen (or ‘tarte flambé’ in French) doesn’t have an underlying layer of tomato sauce under the cheese and toppings. The thin crusted bread has a light white cheese or crème fraiche on top and various other toppings. Share it with your friends or family. Or order it as a main course by yourself!

Special nights

Besides the regular menu which offers international cuisine for lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers special nights. In lobster season, Breeze ‘n Bites’ Lobster nights are the talk of the town.

In other parts of the year, the special Steak and Fish night is highly recommended. Serving, for example, sirloin steak and the fresh fish of the day, with a Caribbean touch. And have we mentioned our Burger nights yet? With a choice of meat, fish or vegan burgers and tasty sides.

Check out our special nights on the menu and keep an eye on the latest news.

What else is on the menu…

Besides our famous seafood, flammkuchen, special nights, catch of the day and daily specials, we serve a whole range of other meat, vegetarian and fish dishes. Such as crispy salads, a variety of lunch sandwiches, platters, soups and desserts. And let’s not forget our drink menu with – besides a wide range of regular drinks – an extensive cocktail menu including trendy frozen cocktails and all-time favorites.

Dutch owned Bonaire restaurant

We briefly mentioned it before; Breeze ‘n Bites is run and owned by Dutch chefs Dick Bos and Frank Rustman. Two names that are easily recognized by long time Bonaire visitors. From the early 1960’s to 2000, the property where the Bonaire restaurant now stands, was occupied by the Den Laman Restaurant. Dick was the head chef for many years in the 80’s and 90’s, left to run restaurants in the Netherlands and Spain, and later returned to showcase his culinary skills once again.
In 2022, longtime friend and colleague Frank Rustman returned to Bonaire and became co-owner and kitchen chef at Breeze ‘n Bites, while Dick shifted his focus to being the host. Frank has many years of experience as a chef at various restaurants in the Netherlands. He was rewarded with an admirable 9- (comparable to an A-) twice by renowned culinary journalist Johannes van Dam.
